Anticholinergics are drugs have been used for centuries in herbal remedies for asthma, but their side effects were unacceptable. Recently, there has been renewed in this group of drugs. Drug Action
Anticholinergics partially block the vagus nerve, which normally controls the slightly constrictive nature of the airways. This results in relaxation and opening of the airways.
